Breathe up to combat acute sinusitis

Acute sinusitis happens when you have a viral infection such as the common cold or a bacterial infection. Some of the symptoms are prolonged cold, nasal congestion, headache, fever, bad breath, fatigue, muscle aches and pain and a persistent cough.

It can also be triggered by air pollution, airborne allergens and dry or cold air. Air which has the lowest possible number of dust particles, bacteria and contaminants can allow our respiratory organs to work as they should and ensure that all the cells in the body receive the oxygen they require.

Good health depends on breathing correctly and maintaining a balance proportion between the gases found in the air. This does not seem easy for the reasons such as –

  • Not breathing properly – shallow respiration
  • Spend most of your time in enclosed spaces where the oxygen levels are lower than carbon dioxide.
  • Contaminants in the atmosphere

We know that exercise is good for your overall health as when you exercise, the cells in your muscles absorb more oxygen and release more carbon dioxide and this process increases the frequency of respiration and the amount of oxygen inhaled with each breath.

Breathing deeply and not taking shallow breaths has enormous health benefits such as –

  • More blood flows to the parts in the lungs that air cannot reach properly and thus prevents us from catching a respiratory infection.
  • Sends sufficient oxygen to our brain reducing drowsiness, apathy, lack of concentration and irritability.
  • Ensures that air reaches all corners of our lungs to receive a correct blood flow.
  • Having a correct blood flow builds resistance to infections of the respiratory tract such as acute sinusitis.
  • Helps to mobilize the mucus trapped in the respiratory tract and expelled through expectoration, thus improving the mucus membranes of the respiratory system which can boost your resistance to infection.
  • Greater vitality when there is sufficient oxygenation to prevent our cell metabolism from slacking.

Learning how to breathe deeply

We have to learn how to breathe deeply to fill our lungs with air and exhaling slowly.

  • Avoid breathing through your mouth. Breathe through your nose as this organ is designed and structured to control the temperature and humidity of the air entering your lungs. It also acts as a filter against foreign particles that would have otherwise dive right into your lungs to trigger your acute sinusitis.
  • While standing or sitting, do not slouch but stand upright with your shoulders back and your chest forward as it will help you in taking deeper breaths.
  • Take at least 3 deep breaths, 3 times a day with proper ventilation like having your windows open or out in the fresh air.
  • Practice deep breathing while walking up the stairs by adapting your breathing to the pace of your legs.
  • Try to remain in the exhalation state longer than in the inhalation state as this breathing helps you to relax. Breathe in to the count of four and out to the count of six. As you exhale, relax your body. Raise your hand as you exhale, count to three and at the count of three; drop your hand as a signal to relax the jaw and the body.

You do not need to spend a cent to combat your acute sinusitis as air is free but needs your commitment and determination to search for knowledge on how to breathe correctly.

Now you can use a natural remedy made from 3 plant extracts that has successfully cured many from their acute sinusitis in just 3 days and it is used by doctors, clinics and hospitals in over 20 countries. Click below to find out more on how this breakthrough remedy can help you too!

Bad breath remedies to use for emergencies

When you have sinusitis, you would most probably have bad breath or halitosis. If you are not sure whether you have bad breath, try breathing on the back of your hands.  You will automatically smell the odor as it comes out of your mouth.

The annoying thing about bad breath is that you cannot rid of it instantly. Are you a social butterfly or have to rush for a meeting where you are supposed to meet with one of your biggest clients in the company and you have to talk a lot? You must think of some quick bad breath remedies.

Here are some ways that you can save yourself from embarrassment:

  • Drink water.  Water can help to clean your mouth and freshens your breath for a period of time. Do you notice that your breath especially smells when you have dry mouth? This is due to bacteria remaining stagnant in your mouth and they multiply and release toxins and odors. Moist your mouth with water to wash off these bacteria and if you do not like the bland taste of water, squeeze some lemon or lime juice.
  • Chewing on a piece of candy or gum is another bad breath remedies which you can use in a jiff.  Your breath will stay fresh at least for that period of time.  If you start talking, do not have the piece of candy swirling in your mouth.
  • If you don’t have any mints or gum while you’re out eating, you can eat the parsley that is used for decoration with your meal.  Chew on the parsley for a few minutes.  You may have to rinse out your mouth with a glass of water as you do not want people to see any green particles on your teeth.
  • If you have a toothbrush handy, you can quickly brush your teeth and use clean tissue to wipe off the residue.  This is a good strategy if you haven’t made it to your destination and you’re not near a rest room.
  • You can quickly scrape your tongue with a scraper or a spoon.  The thing about this bad breath remedies is that you will have to go somewhere in private.  If you can find a bathroom, then you can attempt to do this.  If you have any white spots on your tongue, remove them with the scraper or the spoon.
  • If you drink alcohol, you will like this one.  If you drink a small shot of whiskey, you can get away with getting rid of your bad breath for a while.  It has been said that whiskey can get rid of germs that are on your teeth.  This is not a promotion of drinking alcohol, but it has been said to work, so it is your choice whether or not you want to try this.  The only caution is not to drink a lot of it, or you could become rather intoxicated.

It is advisable to consult your doctor when you have persistent bad breath as other than sinusitis; there are many other causes like indigestion, gum disease or even tonsillithiasis.  You have to find out the exact cause as bad breath remedies can only temporarily rid bad breath but cannot rid what is causing it.
